Israeli Forces Conduct Special Operations in Lebanon

(MENAFN) The Israeli military announced on Wednesday that its troops initiated “special, targeted” missions in southern Lebanon, disregarding a ceasefire arrangement.

According to a military communiqué, soldiers from the 91st Division commenced what was described as “special, targeted operations” aimed at dismantling Hezbollah’s combatants and military installations in the area.

The army stated that these operations were triggered after the detection of Hezbollah armaments and subterranean storage facilities in multiple locations along the border.

The statement further explained that Israeli forces demolished what was referred to as “a compound containing weapons depots and firing positions” linked to Hezbollah near Jabal Blat mountain in southern Lebanon.

Additionally, the military asserted that its units seized concealed weaponry in the Labbouneh region in the south and destroyed another underground site used for storing arms.

Meanwhile, a Lebanese official news outlet reported that Israeli drones were spotted flying over the capital city, Beirut, and its southern outskirts.
